Your route to Okavandu

From Windhoek, take the B1 north to Okahandja. There you switch to the B2 toward Swakopmund on the coast, and the turnoff to our farm is on this road too.

From the airport you have two routes to choose from: the new bypass around the outside of Windhoek or the old road straight through the city, both about equally fast. The old route is a bit shorter, but guinea fowl regularly run across the road there.

If you're heading on to the sea from here, it's about 2.5 hours to the coast at Swakopmund, paved all the way, via Karibib, Usakos, and Arandis.

Okavandu lies on the B2 between Karibib and Okahandja, northwest of Windhoek. To the north, the road runs via Okahandja, Otjiwarongo, and Outjo to Etosha. To the west, the B2 runs to the coast at Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, then on via Solitaire and Sesriem to Sossusvlei.ETOSHANAMIBERONGODAMARALANDATLANTIKWindhoekFlughafenOkahandjaSwakopmundWalvis BayOtjiwarongoOutjoOkaukuejoTsumebOmaruruKaribibRehobothSolitaireSesriemSossusvleiSpitzkoppeUisTwyfelfonteinKamanjabOkavandu

To get to us, whether from Windhoek or from Swakopmund, you don't need a 4x4 or all-wheel drive, and a regular rental car is fine. For trips beyond the farm, say on a longer tour of the country, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is well worth it, though.
