Hosting and server logs

Waimanu IT UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Rosenstr. 11D, 97332 Volkach, and EIKONA Media GmbH, Am Alten Bahnhof 8, 97332 Volkach, operate and host the website for us. When you open a page, the server automatically stores technical data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser, and operating system. We need this data to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The entries are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for this purpose.

Encryption

This website is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form via HTTPS (TLS). What you enter in a form cannot be read by anyone along the way. An ordinary email to us, on the other hand, is not always encrypted in transit, depending on the email provider. For confidential information, it is therefore best to use the form.

Inquiry form and email

We use what you write in the inquiry form or send us by email to answer your inquiry and, where applicable, to prepare your stay. First name, last name, and email address are required. Everything else is optional. The form sends your details as an email to our mailbox booking@okavandu.com. EIKONA Media GmbH operates the mail server for us in Germany. The legal basis is taking steps prior to entering into a contract or the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where no booking is involved, our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the inquiry as soon as it has been dealt with and no statutory retention period prevents this. Providing your details is neither a statutory nor a contractual requirement. Without your name and email address, however, we cannot reply to you.

Price list and information sheet

If you request the hunting price list or the foundation's information sheet, we use your email address to send you the document. For the information sheet, you also consent to us sending you relevant information about Okavandu. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by email. After that, we will not write to you again.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address to send you news from Okavandu. Before we send the first newsletter, we ask you by email to confirm your sign-up. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time. A short email to booking@okavandu.com is enough. We then remove your address from the mailing list.

Processing in Namibia

Our team on the farm in Namibia handles your inquiries and messages. For Namibia, there is no adequacy decision of the European Commission. The transfer is necessary to answer your inquiry and to prepare the stay that you yourself requested (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies without your consent. Only Google Analytics sets cookies. It does so only after you have chosen “Accept” in the notice.

Web analytics with Google Analytics

Only if you choose “Accept” in the notice do we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. For this, Google sets cookies (_ga and _ga_ with our measurement ID) and processes pseudonymous usage data such as pages viewed, referral source, device, browser, and approximate location. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). A transfer to the USA is possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The data is deleted after 14 months. Without your consent, no Google script loads.

Your consent

We store your choice in the notice only in your browser (localStorage, key “okv-consent”), not on our server. You can change or withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; the analytics cookies are then deleted. The legal basis for storing your choice is our legitimate interest in respecting your decision (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Fonts

The fonts on this website are stored on our own server. When the page loads, it does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font provider.

No automated decisions

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing. We do not create profiles within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), and to data portability (Art. 20). If we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. A message to booking@okavandu.com is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority where you live or the Bavarian data protection authority, Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.
