About us

The people behind Okavandu

Meet the people who make your stay with us special.

The Drescher family brought Okavandu to life. Today the warm team that lives and works on the farm makes sure you feel at home with us from the very first moment. Everyone on the team brings their own story and their own passion, and you feel exactly that in every encounter.

Our foundation is part of this story too. This way your stay becomes more than just a trip and turns into a real encounter with people who have made Okavandu their home. Get to know them personally here.

The Drescher family

Manuel and Katharina Drescher started Okavandu, and their motivation is simple: they want to build something that lasts. In a short time, they turned a purely private farm into a guest farm with a first-class lodge.

Namibia won the two of them over long ago, and with their two sons the family spends as much time as possible at Okavandu.

Our story so far

What you experience at Okavandu today came about in a short time, step by step and with a lot of heart.

Builders lay bricks and plaster a new house in the Village, two of them standing up on the scaffolding.
Chris talks through the construction site with site manager Will, stones ready behind them.
The living room in the renovated farmhouse with a leather sofa, a floor lamp, and a multi-paned window.
The lodge's pool with a wooden deck and loungers, the Lapa behind it.
