What you can do here

Safari & game drives

Whether you come for the shared experience or out of pure love for wildlife, a game drive at Okavandu is always an adventure. Along the way you see many different species, from warthogs to giraffes, zebras, and oryx all the way to kudu.

The drive takes you through scenic bushland and past waterholes, in the middle of Namibia. Take a closer look and find all the details here.

Hunting

Hunting matters for how our farm runs, because it helps keep the game population in balance. Guided by our own experienced professional hunter (PH), you go real spot-and-stalk hunting in the Namibian wilderness. You'll find the terms, how a hunt runs, and all the details on our hunting page.

Farm tour

On a relaxed walk you get to know our farm and life out here up close. You might even meet the animals in our care, right now a little giraffe and a young oryx, both of which we rescued and are raising. Just add the farm tour when you're here, and you can read more about our farm on the farm page right now.

Sundowner

In the late afternoon you head up our sundowner hill, a cold drink in hand and a view across the wide open farm. A moment to pause before the evening begins. Just add the sundowner when you're here, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Relaxing in the Lapa

Between two adventures there's always time to catch your breath here, however you feel. Over a drink at the bar, out on the terrace, on a lounger in the sun, with a book in the lounge areas, or for a swim in the pool, you'll always find the right spot to unwind.

Beyond the farm

Okavandu lies between Windhoek and Swakopmund, which makes it perfect for the first or last night of your tour, in either direction.
Heading north, you reach Etosha in about four hours, while Sossusvlei to the south is about a day's drive away.

If you like, we plan and arrange your whole tour or single excursions for you. Simply get in touch through our contact form, and we'll take care of the rest.

Stories from our guests

We only wanted a few quiet days, but we ended up sitting by the pool every evening, swapping stories with other guests. A place you love coming back to.

IsabelleIsabelle from the Allgäu

The sundowner on the hill was the high point of our trip.

SteffenSteffen from Volkach

What stayed with me most was the game drive and how warmly the people there welcomed us.

Common questions about the activities

Activities on our farm in Namibia

When you plan a trip to Namibia, two questions often come up: what is there to do and how do you plan a stay that makes sense? At Okavandu you have the advantage that the main activities are right here on the farm, so you don't need to plan long drives to national parks or outside operators first.

We're also glad to help with trips beyond the farm, say to the coast or on a longer tour of Namibia. We work with partners whose trips we know firsthand and help you make the most of your time in Namibia, whether you drive yourself or prefer a guided tour.

Okavandu lies near Wilhelmstal in the Erongo Region, about 1.5 hours from Windhoek and about 2 hours from Hosea Kutako International Airport, which makes it an ideal base for activities and trips all over Namibia.

Your home after a day full of experiences

Newly designed rooms are waiting for you, in the historic farmhouse or right by the pool, furnished with a lot of love for detail. After an eventful day, this is just the right place to wind down.
